Real estate wasn't my first career—but it was always in my blood.

I grew up watching my parents run Bayside Realty, a local brokerage they owned for 20 years. I saw firsthand what it meant to help families find homes and build lives in Nova Scotia. But like a lot of young people, I wanted to chart my own path first. I started out working at a fishing plant, learning what hard work really looks like.

Eventually, I found my way back to real estate. And once I did, I knew I'd found where I belonged.

What I love most is the negotiation—the strategy of making sure my buyers get their dream home at the right price, and my sellers get top dollar. There's real satisfaction in that. After 19 years, I still get excited about closing a deal that works for everyone involved.

I spent 50 years living in Mahone Bay before recently moving to Halifax with my wife Kathleen, who's also my business partner, and our two kids. That deep connection to the South Shore—combined with knowing Halifax inside and out—gives me a unique perspective on both markets. We love the peaceful, simple life Nova Scotia offers, and I can't think of a better place to raise a family or call home. That's why I'm so passionate about promoting this province—because I genuinely believe in what we have here.
